From Globetrotter to French Native Teacher
Bonjour, I’m Déborah. I grew up in the south of France in a village on the Atlantic Ocean. At home, my grandfather spoke Vietnamese and my grandmother Malagasy. Quite the mix!
My family tree has its roots in no less than 4 continents: Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania. So, my fascination with travel, languages, and foreign cultures was inevitable.
☀︎ At the age of 17, I was building a library in Togo, Africa, after receiving a scholarship from France.
☀︎ At 19, I moved to Brussels in Belgium to study Political Science after a year of law.
☀︎ At 22, I lived in a Tibetan Buddhist center in Bordeaux, where I guided meditation sessions.
☀︎ At 23, I was backpacking through Southeast Asia, India and Nepal without a return ticket.
☀︎At 27, I was awarded the honorary prize for ‘teaching excellence’ by the prestigious University of Nanjing in China.
Teaching quickly became my calling : every class felt like an invitation to travel. This passion led me to earn a Master’s degree in French as a Foreign Language from the University of Artois. I then had the incredible opportunity to teach abroad, living in the four corners of the world: Valencia, Durango, Madrid, Donostia, Lisbon, Wellington… A true nomadic life! As a result, I speak three and a half languages, my passport is full of stamps, my boyfriend is an English native speaker, and my head is full of colours.
More than just a French teacher, I see myself as your linguistic coach and partner. I’m here to guide you every step of the way, ensuring that your French-learning journey is not only effective but also exciting. In one word: I’ve got your back! Together, we’ll turn your French learning goals into reality.
