About Course

Welcome to Survive & Thrive in France.

Before we begin with vocabulary nd real-life conversations, this first lesson is here to help you start with clarity and confidence.

Best french course for retirees expats in France

This program is for you whether you are already living in France, preparing your move, planning a scouting trip, or simply dreaming of feeling more at home in French.

Some of you are complete beginners. Some of you already understand and speak a little French. Some of you may have learned French years ago and feel rusty. That is perfectly fine.

We will move step by step. This is not school French. You do not need perfect grammar, long study sessions, or pressure to succeed here. The goal is practical confidence: understanding more, speaking more easily, and feeling more capable in real-life situations.

Throughout the course, I invite you to keep a small notebook with you. Write down useful expressions, new words, little cultural surprises, and especially any questions that come up along the way.

coffee, pen, notebook, open notebook, empty notebook, caffeine, cup, cafe, coffee cup, latte, latte art, cappuccino, morning coffee, coffee break, beverage, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee

Before each live coaching session, you can send me your questions so we can work on what is most useful for you in real life.

Do not hesitate to speak out loud, repeat often, and even record yourself. French is a language you learn with your ears and your mouth, not only with your eyes.

Listening to yourself can feel strange at first, but it is one of the best ways to build confidence and improve your pronunciation.

Use these 8 weeks as an opportunity to build simple daily habits. Even 10 minutes a day can create real progress when you stay consistent.

We will also work on mindset, because confidence matters just as much as vocabulary. Feeling calm, allowing yourself to make mistakes, and trusting the process are part of learning French too.

I would also like you to embrace the beginner “state of mind”. I know many of you are highly competent, experienced, and confident in your own field, and it can feel uncomfortable, even frustrating, to suddenly not know how to express something simple. That feeling is normal. Learning French (or any foreign language) asks a little humility, and that is part of the journey. It starts by allowing yourself to ask questions, to not know, and to not be afraid of sounding imperfect.

I will bring you structure, guidance, French expertise, and practical tools. But this space is also collaborative. Many of you have rich life experience, different stories, and useful tips to share.

In the WhatsApp group and during the live coaching sessions, I invite you to share what works for you, your questions, your routines, and the little discoveries that help you feel more confident in French.

We will work slowly, clearly, and with intention.

Bienvenue. Let’s begin.
