About Course

You’re moving to France, preparing a scouting trip, or already living there. You probably imagined la belle vie — coffee at the café, chats with the neighbours, le marché, the boulangerie, and everyday moments that feel simple and human.

But once you’re there, French can feel fast, blurry, and exhausting. You don’t always know what to say, how to say it, or how to react in real situations.

This course is here to change that.

Real-Life French for Expats & Future Expats is a practical, feel-good path designed for adult learners who want to understand, speak, and connect in everyday French. You’ll learn the language people actually use, always in context, always linked to real situations you live or are about to live in France.

We work slowly, clearly, and calmly. Pronunciation is taught by ear. Grammar appears only when it’s useful. You repeat, you listen, you try, and little by little, things start to make sense.

Each lesson follows a clear progression, so you always know where you are and where you’re going. No rush. No pressure. Just a coherent path that helps you feel more confident and more at home in French, one conversation at a time.

Voilà.

À bientôt.

Landing in France: Your First Words, Your First Connections
This first module is about what happens right at the beginning, when you arrive in France and everything feels both exciting and slightly unreal. You are surrounded by a language you recognise but do not yet control, and even simple interactions can feel heavier than they should. We don’t start by asking you to “learn French”. We start by looking at what actually happens in those first hours and first moments. Sitting next to someone on the plane. Hearing a bonjour. Exchanging a few words, even if they are imperfect. Realising that connection does not require long sentences or flawless grammar. In this module, you learn how to say just enough. How to introduce yourself simply. How to respond naturally when someone speaks to you. How to feel, rather than analyse, when tu or vous makes sense. You also begin to tune your ear to the sound of French, its rhythm and melody, without trying to memorise rules or lists.Nothing here is theoretical. We do not begin with grammar explanations, verb tables, or the alphabet. We begin with people, with presence, and with the kind of French that exists in real life, spoken quietly and imperfectly.Because arriving in a new country is not only a linguistic experience, this module also gives you space to slow down and settle. Feeling calm enough to speak, even a little, matters as much as knowing the words themselves. This first module lays the foundation for everything that follows. It helps you start without pressure, without performance, and without the feeling that you should already know more than you do.You don’t need to speak much yet. You just need to begin. On y va. À bientôt.
